Course Description: In this fun course students will learn how to start live streaming with style and confidence. Students will go from start to finish in planning an executing their first ever livestream. Learn all about the platforms, software, accounts, and strategies you need to start streaming video games or art! About Mentor: She is the founder of both the Raleigh Community MeetUp, Powered by Twitch, the official local networking group for streaming enthusiasts, and the Your Creativity Business podcast. During the day, she is the Marketing & Communications Director for Theatre Raleigh. Skills Addressed: Computer Skills, Streaming Technology and Platform Use, Creativity, Oral Presentation Skills Course Requirements/Supplies: Students should have a decent computer or a mobile phone that they plan to use for live streaming. Students will learn about live streaming platforms like: Twitch, Youtube, Instagram, and Facebook. Students will also learn about Open Broadcasting Software like OBS Studio and Streamlabs. It's not required that they use OBS, but we will discuss it as an option for them if they want to take their streams to that level! Note to Parents: Students will be taught how to live stream on the internet. I will provide examples of other people their age who are streaming safely and successfully, and we will discuss online safety concepts. But it's also important to have conversations with your child about online safety.
